This quote by Og Mandino has been the quote that I have lived by my entire adult life.
A perfect example of this quote comes from my time at University. While it is true that my Computer Science degree has allowed me to pursue a fruitful technology career, I cannot ignore how my acting/theatre classes have also - almost as equally - helped me achieve my career goals. As I straddled both departments, my class-mates in acting could not imagine me in computer science and vice versa - none were able to conceive of a scenario where I could be talented in both.
In the end, I was. Science taught me how to be analytical, Theatre taught me how to be creative - to read my audience, detect body language and speak with conviction.
This quote continues to influence me as I continue my education and work to improve my skills in coding, event-driven design, machine learning, cognitive human behaviour and digital transformation. All are seeds that I am planting now, of which I will harvest later much to my benefit and my future business/employer.
At my core, I am an eager student and passionate technologist that has many different tools and experiences that are greater than the sum of their parts and would be a tremendous asset to any organization capable of taking advantage of them.
